and what would be a couple of good side dishes to go along with them?|||i usually do 3/4 lb to 1 1/2 lbs per person.
also use dish rags instead of napkins...
sides:
I would stick to sides you can also eat with your hands..since so much cleanup would be involved to switch to eat a side from the crab.
corn bread
do the boil for crab with just the corn, sausage and red potatoes.
french bread, cut into slices put a small plate out with olive oil and equal parts of: salt, pepper, oregano, rosemary, thyme, parsley, sage(or just use italian seasoning.)
cole slaw can be good, but again that darn fork issue...!|||A good rule of thumb on the serving size per person is 1 pound of in the shell king crab. Another thing to remember when trying to figure out the servings is who you are serving and the type of meal or party you are having. King crab served at a cocktail party as finger food will require less per person, probably around 1/2 pound.
If you are serving crab as an all you can eat dinner, I would suggest at least 2 pounds per person. If you have some really big crab eaters this may have to go even higher.
A Greek salad would do great or fresh garden salad, steamed new potato's and mini corn on the cob, or mix greens or mesculin with radicchio and endive, roasted beets, goat cheese or Gorgonzola,
candied pecans or walnuts, apples or pears, orange or tangerine sections, heirloom, cherry or grape tomatoes.|||Grilled king crab legs
2 1/2 to 3 pounds frozen king crab legs (about 6 to 8 crab legs), do not thaw
One disposable foil roasting pan (approximately 16 x 12 x 3-inches)
2 tablespoons olive oil or seasoned olive oil
Dierbergs Kitchen's Chardonnay Shallot Herb
Butter or Chipotle Butter, melted or
Dierbergs Kitchen's Remoulade Sauce
Lemon wedges
Preheat gas or prepare charcoal grill to medium-high heat. Arrange frozen crab legs in disposable foil pan; drizzle with olive oil. Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil, sealing edges. Place pan on grill. Cook 15 to 20 minutes or until internal temperature of crab legs reaches 145 to 150 degrees F. (To check, carefully turn back foil on pan; avoid steam. Insert instant-read thermometer into thickest part of crab leg.) Carefully remove pan from grill; transfer crab legs to serving platter. Serve hot with melted Dierbergs Kitchen's Chardonnay Shallot Herb Butter or Chipotle Butter or Dierbergs Kitchen's Remoulade Sauce and lemon wedges.
Makes 4 servings
Serve with potatoes, leeks and carrots.|||5 pounds. To reheat the crab. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap. A couple of legs together in each bundle. Microwave for 4 to 5 minutes if already thawed.
Remember: King Crab is an already cooked product when it is sold to you, so all that needs to happen is reheating after thawing. That is why the microwave is perfect for this chore.
Drawn Butter.
Ceaser Salad or Macaroni salad with shrimp.
Garlic Bread
Coconut ice cream and Brownies with Macadamia nuts for dessert.
Lots of napkins.|||At least 5-6 lbs, since half of the weight is shell. Corn on the cob and coleslaw would be a classic, but a green salad and double-baked potatoes would be good too|||butter goes good so does ketchup ranch goes with EVERYTHING TO
