How deep do the Alaska King Crab pots go?

Somebody asked: On the show "Deadliest Catch" how deep in the ocean do the crab pots go? The "best answer" was "on the bottom" but no actual depth was determined. Sure - the crab traps sit on the bottom, but how many feet down?|||Red and blue king crabs can be found anywhere between the intertidal zone and a depth of 100 fathoms (180 m, 600 ft). Golden king crabs live in depths between 100 and 400 fathoms (180 and 720 m, 600 and 2400 ft).
